What makes Zegerid OTC® different?
Zegerid OTC® is the only 24 hour frequent heartburn treatment that contains two active ingredients: the leading prescription acid reducer (omeprazole), plus a second ingredient (sodium bicarbonate) that protects the omeprazole from acid in the stomach – so it can be absorbed by the body and get right to work treating frequent heartburn.
Who can take Zegerid OTC®?

What's a PPI?
Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs), such as Zegerid OTC®, are medicines specifically indicated for treating frequent heartburn. They are highly effective because they block acid production at the source by deactivating acid pumps in your stomach. And PPIs only need to be taken once a day for 14 days.
What's the difference between prescription Zegerid® and Zegerid OTC®?
From an active ingredient perspective, there is no difference between Zegerid OTC® 20mg capsule and prescription Zegerid® 20 mg capsule.
